The First Congregational Church
of Greenwich seeks an inspiring, loving, and engaging senior pastor.

After much prayer, inquiry, and discernment, the search committee envisions a senior pastor who will provide thought-provoking spiritual guidance from the pulpit while lovingly and enthusiastically becoming an active member of our church and town community.

OUR CHURCH

For over 350 years, First Congregational Church of Greenwich has shared and celebrated the Word of God. Today, our large, newly renovated campus is a centerpiece of the Old Greenwich/Riverside community. Our sizable congregation relies on First Church for vibrant worship, a wonderful music ministry, Christian education for all ages, dynamic youth programs, and many forms of outreach.

The wider community comes to First Church for preschool, summer camps, meeting space, concerts, and as spiritual home at Christmas and Easter.

OUR BELIEFS

First Church is an open and affirming congregation that welcomes all and believes in the freedom and responsibility of the individual soul and the right of private judgment.  We share a Covenant of Faith in our bylaws that proclaims one God, infinite in wisdom, goodness and love, and our belief in Jesus Christ, God’s Child, our Lord and Savior.

SHARING OUR FUTURE

First Church is committed to doing even more for the community and the world while building a strong foundation for the future.  We humbly ask God to help us find an inspiring, loving, and engaging senior pastor who feels called by the Spirit to love our church and our town.

OUR COMMUNITY

First Church is located in the heart of Old Greenwich, a lively suburban village on Long Island Sound that has a small town feel yet is part of the Town of Greenwich with a population of 60,850.  Ours is an active, neighborly community where kids ride their bikes to friends’ houses and neighbors look out for each other.  There is a strong, high spirit of volunteerism in community organizations and town government. Greenwich enjoys excellent public and private schools, libraries, cultural opportunities, parks and beaches and is only one hour from New York City by train or car.
